The Students Really Confident And Smoothly To Show And Present Their Creations
Project Based Learning is an effective learning application because it emphasizes contextual learning through complex activities. This learning is designed to help students develop critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills through projects. This learning method that can build students’ creativity and self-confidence also makes their learning more enjoyable, because students are invited to determine a fundamental problem in learning, then design what project they will create. After that, they prepare a schedule for making the project, and make the project with guidance from the teacher. The project results will be presented as process and product testing.
SD Islam Al Azhar 52 Sidoarjo implements Project Based Learning for grades 1, 2 and 3. In grade 1 learning, students make a Diorama Box project. In this project they will describe their family members, gender, and house rules. Students are also asked to be able to point out body parts in the photo. Then students can explain about the five senses. The next theme is math blocks, where students can match numbers 1 to 10. They also play puzzles about Surah Al Lahab and the conversation ‘مَا هَذَا؟’ in Arabic, also odd and even numbers, and explains the pillars of faith.
Project Based Learning in Class 2 is making a Healthy Body Board project. Students explain about the five senses along with their functions and how to care for them, and continue with an explanation about types of human teeth. Students are also asked to have conversations about professions and introductions in Arabic.
Meanwhile, Project Based Learning in grade 3 is creating ‘My Nature’ project. Students explain the life cycle of frogs, a tribe on the big island of Indonesia, and compose verses from Surah Al Lail. Then continued with the ‘Number Board’ project, where students explained about place value and rounding numbers.
Last but not least, with Project Based Learning, students can express creativity through projects and communicate well through their presentations. So it can be concluded that this learning can foster a high sense of self-confidence, if this kind of learning is always repeated with different projects. So that in the end, students can present smoothly and feel proud to show the results of the project they have created.
